Josh Pressley who played for the Somerset Patriots over the last five season was traded to the Sugar Land Skeeters on Thursday.
Pressley was originally drafted in the 4th Round (132nd overall) by the Tampa Bay Rays (Devil Rays) in the 1999 MLB Amateur Draft. He played in the Rays, Mets, Royals, Marlins, Cardinals, and Rex Sox organizations before joining the Somerset Patriots in 2007.
In his five season with the Patriots he hit .308 with 96 home runs, and 378 RBI's. In 2008, he was named "Atlantic League Player of the Year."
Great trade for the Skeeters who needed a recognizable name on their roster to help put fans in the seats. Also, grade trade for Josh who can now be closer to his family.
