Jon Hunton announced on his twitter account that he has signed with the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association for the 2012 season.
Hunton played three regular season games for the 2011 Ducks at the end
of the season but was instrumental in their playoff run. He struck
out the final batter in the 2011 Liberty Division Championship.
Prior to joining the Ducks in 2011, he pitched for the Grand Prairie Air Hogs of the American Association where he wad 7-2 with a 1.76 ERA, and 25 saves in 49 games.
I talked to Jon during the off-season so this wasn't too much of a surprise to me. He's got big league stuff, but just never got the opportunity to pitch in the major leagues. I wish him the best of luck in Laredo.
