According to his Twitter account, Matt Way has signed with the Ducks for the 2013 season.
While Way only pitched eight innings in the regular season for the Ducks last year, he was electric in the playoffs including a 8 inning, 1 run, 4 hit, 10 strikeout masterpiece against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in game two of the Liberty Division championship series.
Way was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 5th round (167th overall) of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Washington State University. He pitched in the Phillies organization for two seasons, posting a 13-9 record with a 3.21 ERA.
Last season he started with the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association, where he had a 10-7 record with a 3.99 ERA, before joining to the Ducks.
Glad to see Matt return to the Ducks for 2013. He was solid for the most part in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see what he can do in a full season with the Ducks.
